Executive Recruiting seeks a remote Senior GitLab CI/CD Engineer to design, build, optimize, and support secure CI/CD pipelines in a modern AWS environment. This hands-on role emphasizes scalable delivery frameworks, automated deployments, and security integration across cloud platforms.

You will architect reusable pipeline patterns, manage GitLab runners, and partner with security teams to advance DevSecOps practices while mentoring engineering teams and documenting best practices.

Qualifications

• 6+ years hands-on experience with GitLab CI/CD pipelines and runners.
• Experience designing, building, and maintaining production CI/CD pipelines.
• Hands-on experience implementing CI/CD solutions within cloud environments, preferably AWS.
• Strong working knowledge of AWS services, IAM policies, networking concepts, and secure cloud deployment practices.
• Experience using Infrastructure as Code technologies such as Terraform and/or AWS CloudFormation.
• Strong understanding of software-development workflows, Git-based version control, branching strategies, and release-management practices.
• Experience troubleshooting complex pipeline, deployment, and cloud-infrastructure issues.
• Ability to develop reusable, maintainable, and scalable CI/CD solutions.
• Strong communication, documentation, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to obtain a U.S. Government security clearance.

Responsibilities

• Design, configure, and optimize GitLab CI/CD pipelines for build, test, and deploy.
• Architect reusable pipeline frameworks, templates, modules, and automation that can be adopted across multiple teams.
• Manage GitLab runners and related pipeline infrastructure.
• Integrate GitLab CI/CD workflows with AWS services and cloud infrastructure.
• Automate deployments across AWS environments using services such as EC2, ECS, EKS, Lambda, S3, IAM, and related technologies.
• Implement automated testing, quality gates, security scanning, vulnerability checks, and artifact management within CI/CD workflows.
• Integrate Infrastructure as Code technologies such as Terraform and AWS CloudFormation into deployment processes.
• Collaborate with software engineers, cloud engineers, security teams, and other technical stakeholders to establish standardized development and deployment practices.
• Troubleshoot pipeline failures, runner issues, deployment problems, performance bottlenecks, permission issues, and other complex CI/CD challenges.
• Develop secure deployment patterns using AWS IAM, networking, access controls, and cloud security best practices.
• Support containerized application deployment using Docker, Kubernetes, and/or Amazon EKS.
• Establish CI/CD technical standards, documentation, reusable patterns, and operational best practices.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to engineering teams adopting GitLab CI/CD and modern DevSecOps practices.
• Evaluate application and infrastructure requirements and recommend appropriate cloud, automation, and deployment approaches.
• Develop technical documentation and support materials that enable teams to operate and troubleshoot CI/CD solutions effectively.
• Continuously identify opportunities to improve pipeline reliability, deployment speed, security, scalability, and developer experience.
