Job summary

Cardinal Health is seeking a Cloud Database Engineer to support WaveMark Solutions, a mission‑critical healthcare application. You will own production and non‑production reliability, performance, security, automation, and disaster recovery for cloud databases.

Role requires remote work from anywhere in the United States, collaborating with software development and IT teams to drive observability, resilience, and continuous delivery practices.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience preferred.
• 5+ years managing production Oracle databases in a regulated healthcare environment preferred.
• Experience with Oracle DB administration on cloud platforms such as AWS RDS or GCP preferred.
• Knowledge of database automation, scripting, and deployment processes preferred.
• Familiarity with observability frameworks and telemetry-driven operations preferred.
• Understanding of site reliability engineering (SRE) principles and automated remediation preferred.
• Knowledge of CI/CD platforms and Infrastructure as Code preferred.
• Understanding of healthcare compliance standards such as HIPAA, FedRAMP, or HITRUST preferred.

Responsibilities

• Maintain production and non-production reliability, uptime, and performance.
• Automate routine maintenance tasks, deployments, backups, and DR strategies.
• Build and manage monitoring, auditing, logging, and alerting systems for databases.
• Collaborate with security, compliance, and application teams for regulatory audits.
• Partner with development teams to modernize deployment automation and data movement architectures.
• Design and test backup, restore, replication, and failover strategies.
