Cardinal Health seeks a Cloud Database Engineer to own reliability and uptime of WaveMark Solutions’ cloud databases. You will automate maintenance, deployments, and DR strategies while collaborating with security and development teams to improve data governance and compliance.

The role emphasizes performance optimization, observability, and scalable data movement in Kubernetes-based environments, with a remote US location and a competitive compensation package.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience.
• 5+ years managing production Oracle databases in regulated environments.
• Experience with Oracle DB administration in cloud platforms AWS RDS or GCP preferred.
• Knowledge of automation and deployment processes.
• Familiarity with observability and telemetry-driven operations.

Responsibilities

• Administer Oracle (primary), MySQL, and PostgreSQL databases in cloud environments.
• Build monitoring, auditing, logging, and alerting systems for database health.
• Establish standards, docs, and runbooks for operations.
• Support deployments and database releases.
• Analyze and optimize performance across prod and non-prod.
• Perform root cause analysis of performance incidents.
• Automate database refreshes between environments.
• Implement data masking for non-prod environments.
• Collaborate on regulatory audits and data governance.
