Job summary

Cardinal Health in the United States is seeking a Cloud Database Engineer to own production and non-production reliability for WaveMark Solutions. You will manage Oracle, MySQL, and PostgreSQL in cloud environments, driving automation and deployment practices to ensure uptime.

Collaborate with software and IT teams to improve observability, security, and data governance, while supporting regulatory audits and disaster recovery planning across healthcare workloads.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in related field or equivalent work experience.
• 5+ years managing production Oracle databases in a regulated healthcare environment.
• Experience with Oracle DB and cloud platforms (AWS RDS or GCP).
• Knowledge of automation, scripting, and deployment processes.
• Familiarity with observability frameworks and telemetry-driven operations.
• Understanding of HIPAA, FedRAMP, or HITRUST compliance.
• Experience with Kubernetes-based environments.
• Strong troubleshooting and documentation skills.

Responsibilities

• Administer Oracle, MySQL, PostgreSQL databases in cloud environments.
• Build and manage intelligent monitoring, auditing, logging, and alerting systems.
• Establish and maintain operational standards, documentation, and runbooks.
• Support application deployments and database releases.
• Analyze and optimize database performance across environments.
• Perform root cause analysis of performance incidents.
• Design, execute, and automate database refresh processes.
• Collaborate with security, compliance, and application teams to support audits and data governance.
