Cardinal Health, Inc. is hiring a Cloud Database Engineer to own reliability and uptime for WaveMark Solutions.

You will manage Oracle databases in cloud environments, build robust monitoring, and drive automation across deployments, with a focus on security and compliance in healthcare. The role supports a large healthcare SaaS platform, requiring collaboration with software development and IT teams to improve performance, data movement, and disaster recovery capabilities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience, preferred.
• 5+ years of Oracle database production management in a regulated environment preferred.
• Experience with Oracle DB administration and cloud platforms (AWS RDS or GCP) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Administer Oracle (primary), MySQL, and PostgreSQL databases in cloud environments.
• Build and manage monitoring, auditing, logging, and alerting systems for database health.
• Establish and maintain runbooks and operational standards.
• Support application deployments and database releases.
• Analyze and optimize database performance across environments.
• Perform root cause analysis of performance incidents.
• Automate database refresh between environments.
• Design data masking for non-production environments.
• Collaborate with security and compliance to support audits.
• Partner with security to enhance data governance and access controls.
• Collaborate with software teams to modernize deployment automation.
• Design backup, restore, replication, and DR strategies.
