Job summary

Optain is seeking a Clinical Operations Manager to own the nationwide provider network of optometrists and ophthalmologists who read retinal images. You will document policy, build a quality program, and create capacity models aligned with the Medical Director while enabling scalable, repeatable workflows.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in healthcare operations with 2+ years managing clinician networks.
• Policy writing experience signed by physician leaders.
• Experience running clinical quality, peer review, or provider performance programs.
• Experience operating clinician networks under medical director oversight.
• Credentialing/medical staff services exposure; teleophthalmology a plus.
• Startup experience building processes from scratch.
• Clear written communicator with physicians.
• US-based with remote work and travel flexibility.

Responsibilities

• Own the grading playbook, SOPs, onboarding materials, and provider policy library with versioning and review.
• Establish documentation governance to house operating knowledge in documents.
• Design and run the grader quality program with error tracking and feedback.
• Prepare quality reviews for Medical Director adjudication and take follow-up actions.
• Build a capacity model by state, customer, and license coverage; set recruitment triggers.
• Lead grader recruitment through interview and credentialing coordination.
• Own intake, triage, and routing of patient and grader complaints with escalation workflows.
• Set agenda and decisions to free Medical Director for clinical work.
• Collaborate with Product/Engineering on platform improvements and document workflows.
