Job summary

Rocket Doctor is seeking a proactive RN to join our virtual healthcare team. In a remote, part-time role (10-20 hours/week), you will handle referrals, review lab results, and perform follow-ups under physician guidance.

Based in California or New York, you’ll triage and coordinate care in a fast-paced telehealth environment. The ideal candidate has an active RN license, 2+ years in clinical nursing or care coordination, HIPAA certification, and strong communication and documentation skills.

Qualifications

• Active RN license in the state where services are provided.
• 2+ years of clinical nursing experience in ambulatory, primary care, or care coordination.
• HIPAA certification.
• Strong medical terminology, labs, and medication management knowledge.
• Experience reviewing and triaging clinical results.
• Experience with referrals, prior authorizations, and insurance workflows.
• Experience with EMRs and portals (Quest/Quanum).
• Proficiency with Gmail, Excel/Sheets, Zoom/Meet, Slack, Adobe PDF, and web portals.
• Remote work readiness and private workspace.

Responsibilities

• Monitor clinical inboxes, emails, and faxes for lab results and referrals.
• Review results and identify abnormal, urgent, or critical findings.
• Escalate urgent results to physicians per protocols.
• Track abnormal results and follow-up tasks.
• Perform physician-directed tasks under protocols.
• Communicate follow-up instructions to patients.
• Coordinate post-visit follow-ups and testing.
• Manage referrals and prior authorizations.
• Support referral scheduling and provider/insurance coordination.
• Document actions and maintain EMR records.
• Respond to patient inquiries about referrals and results.
• Maintain HIPAA-compliant practices and secure data.
