Job summary

Washington University in St. Louis is seeking a budget and billing program coordinator for clinical studies, remote role in the United States.

You will review protocols to build study budgets, distinguish SOC from research procedures, and collaborate with multiple departments to develop costed plans and billing schemas. You will negotiate with sponsors, prepare budgets, and guide other staff in billing compliance throughout contract lifecycle.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or combination of education and/or experience may substitute for minimum education.
• 5 years in Finance or Business Management areas.
• No specific certification/professional license required for this position.

Responsibilities

• Review new protocols to identify study procedures and services to budget
• Differentiate between Standard of Care vs Research procedures
• Coordinate with departments to ensure accurate study charge schema
• Prepare budgets for sponsor negotiations based on internal costs and metrics
• Maintain contact with sponsor to finalize budgets and integrate into contracts
• Ensure consent forms identify costs paid by study vs insured billing
• Review final agreements to reflect budget terms accurately
• Assist study coordinators with plans to capture and bill study services
• Coordinate with billing contacts to align spending with budgets
• Provide billing plans to university and hospital offices and update as needed
• Troubleshoot compliance questions as primary contact
