Job summary

Washington University in St. Louis is seeking a Budgeting and Billing Coordinator to manage clinical trials budgets and billing plans. You will review protocols to identify procedures, distinguish Standard of Care from research, and prepare budgets for sponsor negotiations.

Acting as the liaison among study teams, contracts, and billing offices, you will ensure accurate charge capture, compliant billing, and timely communications to support study execution across departments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or combination of education and/or experience may substitute for minimum education.
• Experience budgeting for clinical trials and budgeting contracts.
• Ability to coordinate cross-departmental activities and communicate with stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Review new protocols to identify study-related procedures and services for budgeting.
• Prepare sponsor budgets using internal costs, historical metrics, and proposals.
• Coordinate with regulatory staff to identify SOC vs research billable items.
• Conduct line-by-line reviews of final contracts to reflect budget terms.
• Create study plans to help coordinators capture and bill study procedures.
• Collaborate with study teams and billing contacts to ensure compliant billing.
• Provide billing plans to University and Hospital offices and address updates during the study life cycle.
• Serve as the point of contact to troubleshoot compliance questions.
