Job summary

Giga seeks an In Country Facilitator (Home based Retainer) to support Libya's NDC Partnership engagement. The role coordinates with government, partners, and donors, translating national climate priorities into actionable plans and tracking progress.

It is a retainer position with a 12-month term and up to 220 working days per year. The incumbent will mobilize resources, facilitate coordination across ministries, and ensure aligned support to Libya's climate goals.

Qualifications

• Master's degree preferably in public policy, development, climate change, natural resource management, or related field.
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent with 7 years of relevant experience as an alternative.
• Minimum 5 years’ experience in climate change, project management, stakeholder and donor engagement.
• Experience with multilateral processes and Nationally Determined Contributions (NDCs).
• English language proficiency; knowledge of Arabic is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate with national and international partners to implement the NDC Partnership engagement.
• Mobilize resources and track progress of the NDC implementation.
• Organize and support national multi-stakeholder NDC dialogues and related events.
• Develop annual work plans and support decision-making with government stakeholders.
• Maintain up-to-date contact details for partners and monitor implementation progress.
• Prepare quarterly country update reports with insights, challenges and recommendations.
