Job summary

Giga seeks a Climate Education Specialist on a home-based retainer to advance climate education within The Bahamas’ national education system. The role involves coordinating with the Ministry of Education, CCEAU, and other partners to embed climate content across existing curricula and to build teacher capacity.

Responsibilities include developing a curriculum integration framework, learning progressions, and monitoring frameworks while ensuring alignment with national policies and the NDC

Qualifications

• Master’s degree preferred in public policy, education, development, climate change or related field.
• Bachelor’s degree with an additional 2 years of relevant work experience may be accepted in lieu of an advanced degree.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical advisory to Government of The Bahamas on integrating climate change into the national education system.
• Lead inception, planning, and stakeholder engagement activities across ministries and partners.
• Develop curriculum integration framework, learning progressions, and teacher implementation guides.
