Job summary

Crawford & Company is seeking an experienced Claims Manager to supervise liability claims handling within our Tampa service center. You will oversee investigation, disposition, and client relationships while guiding a team of claim examiners.

Ideal candidates have a strong background in insurance practices, five+ years as a claim examiner, and proven leadership skills. This on-site role offers a comprehensive rewards package and growth opportunities within a global firm.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience required.
Five+ years of progressive experience as a Claim Examiner with the most complex cases.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Analytical ability and mathematical aptitude.
Ability to supervise, manage and develop staff.
In-depth knowledge of insurance coverages, practices and negotiations; licensure where applicable.

Responsibilities

Establishes performance standards, conducts appraisals, and administers salary adjustments and promotions.
Assigns losses to claim examiners and ensures workloads align with staffing models.
Coaches staff on investigations, reserves, and settlement techniques; ensures compliance with standards.
Keeps VP informed of activities and issues and escalates beyond authority as needed.
Organizes workflows in Risk Tech Claim System and trains staff on system use.
