Job summary

Crawford & Company is seeking an experienced Claims Supervisor in Tampa to oversee liability claim investigations, management, and timely dispositions. You will lead a team, set performance standards, and coordinate with executives, clients, carriers, and brokers to ensure compliant and efficient claim handling.

The role emphasizes leadership, deep knowledge of insurance practices, and the ability to manage complex cases with sound judgment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience required.
• Five or more years of progressive experience as a Claim Examiner or equivalent.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Analytical ability.
• Good mathematical aptitude.
• Good organizational and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to effectively manage, supervise, and develop employees.
• Thorough knowledge of services delivered by the branch office.
• In-depth knowledge of insurance coverages, practices and negotiating skills.
• Licensing requirements for lines of insurance handled where applicable.

Responsibilities

• Supervises the investigation, management, and disposition of liability claims.
• Establishes performance standards and conducts appraisals; administers HR actions.
• Assigns losses to claim examiners and balances workloads per staffing models.
• Guides staff on reserving evaluations and settlement techniques; ensures compliance.
• Coordinates with VP/Assistant VP and clients; prepares for reviews with carriers and brokers.
• Trains staff on Risk Tech Claim System and other systems.
