Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent is required; professional designations are a plus but not required.
• 4–8 years of technical claims investigations/settling experience in claims or similar organization.
• Ability to work independently while handling multiple technical subjects.
• Strong written and oral communication, negotiation and presentation skills.
• Advanced analytical and problem solving skills; ability to manage multiple projects.

Responsibilities

• Interprets complex policy coverages and determines applicability to claims.
• Manages investigative activity on complex claims and directs discovery and litigation strategy with counsel.
• Analyzes claims activity and prepares reports for clients, carriers and management.
• Establishes reserves using independent judgment and authorizes payments within authority.
• Settles claims promptly and issues drafts within authority limits.
• Develops subrogation and third-party recovery potential and follows reclaim procedures.
• Participates in claim reviews and prepares reports for stakeholders.
