Job summary

Crawford & Company is seeking a Team Manager – Disability to lead a high-performing claims team from anywhere in the United States. You will oversee investigations, manage claims, and ensure timely resolutions while aligning with client guidelines.

This role emphasizes performance management, staff development, and adherence to company policies, with remote leadership and collaboration across carriers and brokers.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience required.
• Five+ years of progressive experience as a Claim Examiner or equivalent.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Analytical ability.
• Good mathematical aptitude.
• Ability to manage, supervise, and develop employees.
• In-depth knowledge of insurance coverages, practices and negotiating skills.

Responsibilities

• Establishes performance standards and objectives and conducts appraisals; administers actions per HR policies.
• Reviews, analyzes, and assigns losses to claim examiners; ensures workloads are balanced and productive.
• Coaches personnel on investigations, reserve evaluations, and settlement techniques; ensures compliance with standards.
• Keeps executives informed of activities and issues within the area of responsibility; routes matters for direction as needed.
• Operates Risk Tech Claim System and related systems, trains staff on usage.
