Job summary

The role supports the VP/Assistant VP of Claims and oversees a Service Center, with a focus on timely closures and adherence to policy.

The position requires a Bachelor's degree or equivalent, 5+ years in claims, strong communication and analytical skills, and knowledge of insurance coverages.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience required.
• Five+ years of progressive experience as a Claim Examiner.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Analytical ability and mathematical aptitude.
• Ability to supervise and develop employees.
• In-depth knowledge of insurance coverages and claims practices.
• Licensing requirements may apply depending on lines of insurance.

Responsibilities

• Establish performance standards and conduct appraisals; administer actions per HR policies.
• Review and assign losses to claim examiners; balance workloads per staffing models.
• Coach staff on investigations, reserving, and settlement techniques; ensure compliance.
• Inform VP/AVP of activities; escalate matters beyond authority as needed.
• Operate and train on the Risk Tech Claim System and related platforms.
