Hastings Insurance seeks an experienced Claim Litigation Specialist to join our Legal team. You will manage a caseload of complex coverage and high-exposure claims, evaluating coverage, reserves, and settlements while coordinating with defense counsel and other stakeholders.

You should have a Bachelor’s degree, 5+ years of P&C claims experience, and ideally 10+ years in claims including litigation. Remote work is available for candidates in MI, OH, IN, IL, or WI; travel occasionally as needed.

Formación

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent is required.
• 5+ years of progressively responsible property and casualty claims experience.
• 10+ years of claims experience including commercial claims and litigation preferred.
• Knowledge of complex coverage issues, litigation processes and settlement negotiations.
• Ability to obtain and maintain state adjuster licenses and continuing education.

Responsabilidades

• Manage a caseload of complex coverage and high-exposure claims from investigation through resolution.
• Investigate exposures, evaluate policy coverage, and develop settlement strategies.
• Collaborate with defense counsel, insureds, claimants and attorneys to support litigation management.
• Establish and maintain appropriate claim reserves based on exposure and costs.
• Participate in mediations, arbitrations, hearings, trials and other proceedings as needed.
• Maintain thorough claim documentation in line with procedures and regulations.
• Identify indicators of fraud and coordinate referrals to Special Investigations Unit.
• Serve as a technical resource on complex coverage matters and risk assessment.
• Communicate claim developments and emerging exposure trends with internal teams.
