Job summary

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• 5+ years of progressively responsible property and casualty insurance claims experience.
• 10+ years of claims experience, including commercial claims and litigation handling, preferred.
• Knowledge of complex coverage issues, high-exposure claims, litigation processes, and settlement negotiations.
• Strong analytical, critical thinking, and decision-making skills; ability to evaluate complex information and develop resolutions.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to interact with attorneys, policyholders, claimants, and internal stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Manage a caseload of complex coverage and high-exposure claims from investigation through resolution.
• Investigate and evaluate claim exposures, analyze policy coverage, and develop claim handling and settlement strategies.
• Collaborate with defense counsel, insureds, claimants, attorneys, and other parties to support litigation management and resolution.
• Evaluate and negotiate settlements within established authority levels.
• Establish and maintain claim reserves based on exposure and potential outcomes.
• Participate in mediations, arbitrations, hearings, trials, and other proceedings as needed.
