Job summary

Hastings Insurance is seeking an experienced Claim Litigation Specialist to join our Legal team. You will investigate, evaluate, and resolve complex coverage and high-exposure claims across multiple jurisdictions, including litigated and non-litigated matters.

In this role, you will manage a caseload, develop claim and litigation strategies, establish reserves, negotiate settlements, and participate in mediations, hearings, and trials as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Minimum of five years of progressively responsible property and casualty claims experience.
• Ten+ years of claims experience including commercial claims and litigation preferred.
• Strong knowledge of complex coverage issues and negotiation strategies.

Responsibilities

• Manage a caseload of complex coverage and high-exposure claims from investigation through resolution.
• Investigate exposures, analyze policy coverage, and develop claim handling strategies.
• Collaborate with defense counsel, insureds, claimants, and attorneys to support litigation management.
• Evaluate and negotiate settlements within authorized authority.
• Maintain accurate claim documentation per company procedures and regulatory requirements.
