Hastings Insurance is seeking an experienced Claim Litigation Specialist to join our Legal team. You will manage a caseload of complex coverage and high-exposure claims, including litigated and non-litigated matters, from investigation through resolution, partnering with defense counsel, insureds, claimants, and attorneys.

The role emphasizes negotiation, reserves, and settlements, plus opportunities for subrogation and loss mitigation.

Qualifikationen

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent with 5+ years property/casualty claims experience.
• 10+ years of claims experience including commercial and litigation preferred.
• Strong knowledge of complex coverage issues and high-exposure claims.
• Excellent written and verbal communication and negotiation skills.
• Ability to obtain state adjuster licenses and continuing education requirements.

Aufgaben

• Manage a caseload of complex coverage and high-exposure claims through investigation to resolution.
• Investigate exposures, analyze policy coverage, and develop settlement strategies.
• Collaborate with defense counsel, insureds, claimants, and attorneys to support litigation.
• Negotiate settlements within authority; establish and maintain reserves.
• Participate in mediations, arbitrations, hearings, and trials.
• Pursue subrogation, salvage, and loss mitigation; coordinate outside vendors.
• Maintain accurate claim documentation and ensure regulatory compliance.
• Identify fraud indicators and refer to Special Investigations Unit.
• Mentor colleagues on complex coverage matters and litigation strategies.
• Coordinate with internal departments on claim developments and exposure.
