Job summary

Gallagher is seeking a Claims Examiner for a remote role based in California. The candidate will manage liability and property damage claims through conclusion, ensuring cost-effective resolutions while identifying coverage issues for referral to committees.

Required are five years of claims experience, active licensing in applicable states, and strong analytical and communication abilities. A Bachelor's degree is preferred, with a comprehensive benefits package and supportive work culture.

Qualifications

• High school diploma and 5 years of claims experience.
• Licensed and/or certified in all states where claims are handled or able to obtain licenses.
• Knowledge of industry standards and practices; proficient computer skills.

Responsibilities

• Review claims within PLCA guidelines.
• Prepare response letters to Government Claims within required timelines.
• Assignment of Investigations; monitor reserves and adjust as needed.
• Review investigative reports, evaluate damages and make recommendations.
• Direct attorneys on litigated files and control defense costs.
• Prepare timely reports to reinsurers and write ups for joint powers authorities.
• Maintain client communications and file documentation.
• Attend mediations or meetings to facilitate settlement.
• Bill at least 80% of the workday.
