Job summary

Gallagher is seeking a Claims Examiner for a remote California-based position. The role focuses on liability and property damage claims to conclude them cost-effectively, with oversight on coverage issues and referrals to counsel when needed.

The candidate should have a high school diploma with 5+ years claims experience, be licensed where required, and possess strong analytical and negotiation skills. A Bachelor’s degree is preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma and 5 years related claims experience.
• Licensed and/or certified in all states where claims are handled or able to obtain licenses per local requirements.
• Bachelor's degree preferred.

Responsibilities

• Review claims within PLCA guidelines.
• Prepare response letters to Government Claims within deadlines.
• Assign investigations and review investigative reports.
• Direct attorneys on litigated files and monitor defense costs.
• Prepare reports to reinsurers and write-ups for JPA’s/Superpools.
• Monitor reserves and pursue subrogation opportunities.
• Respond to client inquiries and maintain data accuracy.
• Attend mediations and assist in settlements.
• Bill at least 80% of the work day.
