Job summary

Navarro Research and Engineering, Inc is seeking a Kentucky-licensed Civil/Structural Professional Engineer to support DOE facility modification work in Paducah, KY. The role involves civil/structural evaluations, design products, and modifications for existing DOE-owned structures, with remote work and occasional travel to Paducah.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in civil or structural engineering required.
• Active Kentucky PE licensure required.
• DOE project experience preferred.
• Experience with civil/structural design documentation.
• Ability to work in regulated facility environments.

Responsibilities

• Provide civil and structural engineering support for DOE facility modification projects and evaluations of existing structures and systems.
• Develop and review civil/structural specifications, calculations, engineering evaluations, structural assessments, design drawings, and statements of work.
• Evaluate structural conditions, design requirements, constructability considerations, and discipline interfaces associated with modifications to existing facilities.
• Support application of seismic loads and applicable civil/structural codes and standards to assigned design tasks.
• Coordinate with project managers, design engineering management, discipline leads, client representatives, and other technical staff to support task execution, reviews, schedules, and field visit needs.
• Support work planning, technical input, milestone deliverables, engineering documentation, and design activities on an intermittent or task-specific basis as project requirements are defined.
• Comply with site access, safety, quality assurance, security, radiological control, and worker safety and health requirements applicable to DOE facility work.
