Job summary

The State of North Carolina is seeking a Human Services Program Consultant II (NS) within the Division of Social Services to deliver mandated child welfare training to county DSS staff across the state. The role provides structured learning, supports performance improvement, and maintains collaborative working relationships with counties.

Responsibilities include planning and executing training events, coordinating logistics, and delivering both individual and group instruction.

Qualifications

• Experience delivering mandated child welfare curricula to DSS staff.
• Ability to lead small and large training groups and apply performance‑improvement strategies.
• Proven ability to coordinate facilities, materials, equipment, and communications for training events.
• Experience providing technical assistance to county DSS agencies and maintaining collaborative relationships.
• Experience researching child welfare standards and writing curricula reflecting policy and practice.

Responsibilities

• Train mandated child welfare curricula for DSS staff statewide.
• Deliver structured learning experiences to promote performance improvement.
• Facilitate learning environments for policy and practice reinforcement.
• Apply transfer‑of‑learning strategies to field practice.
