The North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services is seeking a Child Care Consultant to support child care licensing. This home-based role monitors centers, conducts investigations, and guides providers to meet state requirements.

Qualifications

• Master's or Bachelor's degree with required experience per vacancy announcement.
• Experience in child care licensing or regulatory work and ability to interpret regulations.
• Strong documentation and reporting skills with attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently in a home-based setting and manage schedules.

Responsabilités

• Assist providers in achieving licensing compliance.
• Monitor licensed centers and homes for regulatory compliance.
• Investigate reports of violations and determine follow-up actions.
• Evaluate facility practices and provide corrective guidance.
• Conduct interviews and document information during investigations.
• Communicate regulatory requirements to providers clearly and professionally.
• Prepare reports and maintain records with Word and Excel.
• Manage daily work independently within the service area and remote setup.
• Provide consultation and technical assistance to providers for ongoing quality improvement.
• Maintain professionalism in stressful or sensitive situations during monitoring.
