Job summary

Cherry Bekaert’s CFO Advisory practice seeks a Manager to advise clients on accounting challenges, enhance financial reporting, and navigate regulatory requirements. You will lead engagements across technical accounting, SEC reporting, and financial transformation with opportunities to mentor teams.

The role offers hybrid or remote work with travel as needed to support client engagements and collaboration across a national team.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Accounting required.
Active CPA license highly preferred.
5+ years in public accounting, advisory, or industry accounting.
Experience supporting SEC registrants or private equity-backed organizations.
Strong technical accounting knowledge and research ability.

Responsibilities

Lead multiple client engagements and act as trusted advisor.
Support and optimize financial close processes for clients.
Assist with accounting transformation initiatives (cash-to-accrual, opening balance sheet).
Guide audit readiness and interactions with external auditors.
Lead technical accounting projects (ASC 480, 606, 718, 805, 815, 842).
Advise on IPO, SPAC, and SEC reporting matters.
Prepare/review financial statements, footnotes, memos, reconciliations, SEC filings.
Mentor team members and foster collaborative culture.
Partner with senior leadership to grow engagement scope.
