Job summary

First American is hiring remote appraisal professionals to support our growing valuation services nationwide. You will perform unbiased property assessments, analyze data, and generate value estimates in compliance with guidelines.

This role emphasizes accuracy, documentation, and collaboration with senior staff. The position requires a Bachelor’s degree, an Appraiser license or certification as appropriate, and strong analytical and communication skills.

Qualifications

• Analytical thinking to assess market areas, statistics and data.
• Strong narrative writing to describe property values clearly.
• Clear verbal and written communication across stakeholders.
• Ability to manage time and deadlines in fast-paced environment.
• Meticulous attention to details in property assessments.
• Knowledge of mortgage/appraisal industry guidelines and standards.

Responsibilities

• Conduct unbiased assessments and develop property value estimates per guidelines.
• Document site assessments with photos, measurements, and comparable data.
• Draw land diagrams and prepare visual documentation.
• Consider factors influencing value: land, neighborhoods, trends, amenities.
• Generate fee quotes and present evaluations to clients and agents.
• Collaborate with Lead Appraiser to improve processes and quality control.
