Job summary

First American Mortgage Solutions is hiring a Mortgage Appraiser to perform unbiased property valuations for properties across the United States. This remote role requires examining data, on-site observations, and market factors to produce reliable value estimates in line with guidelines.

You'll document findings, communicate results to clients, and collaborate with the Lead Appraiser to improve processes while meeting tight deadlines. A state-appropriate license is required.

Qualifications

• Minimum 0–1 years of related mortgage or appraisal experience.
• Preferred experience in REO appraisals.
• HUD/FHA experience.
• Bachelor's Degree required.
• Ability to work within varying client-driven deadlines.
• Exceptional analytical and narrative writing skills.
• Must have good communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Active Appraiser license or certification as required by state's regulatory agency.

Responsibilities

• Conduct unbiased assessments and prepare property value estimates.
• Document on-site assessments with photos and notes.
• Draw land diagrams and visual documentation.
• Consider factors affecting value, including location and market trends.
• Generate fee quotes.
• Present evaluations to buyers, sellers, investors, and agents.
• Collaborate with Lead Appraiser to improve processes.
• Participate in monthly Appraiser meetings.
• Meet department deadlines and escalate if needed.
