Job summary

Actalent is seeking a Fully Remote Certified Pharmacy Technician to evaluate and authorize prior authorization requests from prescribers using clinical criteria in a call center setting. This contract-to-hire position is fully remote with 8-hour shifts from 7:15am CST to 9pm CST, five days a week, supporting pharmacy benefit coverage and formulary decisions.

Required: high school diploma or GED, state license, National Pharmacy Technician Certification (PTCB or NHA), and 1+ years in retail or

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• State registration/license is required.
• National Pharmacy Technician Certification (PTCB or NHA) required.
• 1+ years of experience in retail or call center pharmacy environment.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate and authorize approval of pharmacy requests based on clinical criteria, documenting outcomes and communicating coverage and formulary alternatives.
• Determine the appropriateness of medications and communicate decisions to physicians, office staff, medical management, and pharmacists.
• Escalate requests requiring extensive clinical review to a pharmacist following clear guidelines.
