Job summary

Actalent is seeking a Fully Remote Certified Pharmacy Technician to evaluate and authorize commercial prior authorization requests from prescribers in a call-center environment. The role requires a current pharmacy technician certification, state license, and at least one year of retail or call center pharmacy experience.

Shifts are 8 hours, 7:15am–9:00pm CST, five days a week, fully remote. This contract-to-hire position is out of Charlotte, NC, with benefits and compensation discussed during

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• State registration/license.
• National Pharmacy Technician Certification required (PTCB or NHA).
• 1+ years of experience in retail or call center pharmacy environment.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate and authorize approval of pharmacy requests based on clinical criteria, documenting prior authorization outcomes and communicating pharmacy benefit coverage and formulary alternatives.
• Determine the appropriateness of medications and communicate decisions to physicians, office staff, medical management, and pharmacists.
• Escalate requests requiring extensive clinical review to a pharmacist following clear guidelines.
