Actalent is seeking a Certified Pharmacy Technician for a 100% remote, contract-to-hire role in a busy call center. You will evaluate and authorize approval of commercial prior authorization requests from prescribers using clinical criteria and document outcomes.

The position requires a high school diploma or GED, state registration/license, and National Pharmacy Technician Certification (PTCB or NHA). One plus year of retail or call center pharmacy experience is expected; shifts run 8 hours

Qualifications

• Experience evaluating prior authorization requests in pharmacy settings.
• Ability to document outcomes and communicate coverage/alternatives clearly.
• Strong understanding of formulary management and clinical criteria.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate and authorize approval of pharmacy requests based on clinical criteria, documenting prior authorization outcomes and communicating pharmacy benefit coverage and formulary alternatives.
• Determine the appropriateness of medications and communicate decisions to physicians, office staff, medical management, and pharmacists.
• Escalate requests requiring extensive clinical review to a pharmacist following clear guidelines.
