Job summary

Actalent seeks a Fully Remote Certified Pharmacy Technician to evaluate and authorize prior authorizations in a busy call center setting. You will determine medication appropriateness, document outcomes, and communicate coverage options to prescribers and pharmacists.

Candidates must hold a High School diploma or GED, state registration, and National Certification (PTCB/NHA); 1+ year in retail or call center pharmacy is required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• State registration/license required.
• National Pharmacy Technician Certification (PTCB or NHA) required.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate and authorize approval of pharmacy requests based on clinical criteria, documenting prior authorization outcomes and communicating pharmacy benefit coverage and formulary alternatives.
• Determine the appropriateness of medications and communicate decisions to physicians, office staff, medical management, and pharmacists.
• Escalate requests requiring extensive clinical review to a pharmacist following clear guidelines.
