Job summary

DaMar Staffing is seeking a fully remote North Carolina Licensed Medical Coder to manage primary diagnosis and procedural coding for surgical specialties, ensuring compliance and optimizing coding practices through collaboration with providers and ongoing education.

This role requires a bachelor or associate degree in medical records, RHIA/RHIT/CCS/CPC certification, and extensive ICD-10-CM and CPT knowledge, with experience in surgical abstraction and multi-specialty coding environments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in medical record administration or associate degree in medical record technology
• Four years of coding experience, including two years in surgical abstraction
• Certification as RHIA, RHIT, CCS, or CPC
• Extensive knowledge of ICD-10-CM and CPT coding conventions
• Familiarity with coding software and reimbursement knowledge in a multi-specialty setting

Responsibilities

• Code from surgical/procedural operative reports and review complex medical records for accurate coding
• Provide education and training to physicians on coding practices and clinical documentation
• Mentor and assist in training other coders while participating in the development of coding policies and procedures
