Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of experience in an HMO/Managed Care or health care setting.
• Strong knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and medical chart review.
• Knowledge of ICD-10, CPT, HCPCS; experience coding with ICD-10-CM.
• HIPAA knowledge; commitment to privacy and confidentiality.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).

Responsibilities

• Timely input of charges in accordance with department needs.
• Maintain established charge batch turnaround times.
• Use web-based tools and coding books for accurate charge entry.
• Assist in reducing denials by maintaining accuracy and following protocols.
• Process discrepancy reconciliation and closing of charge batches across systems.
• Respond to inquiries from provider offices and internal departments promptly.
• Responsible for Claim Edit Reports and Unassigned Money Reports.
• Comply with policies and procedures for the position, department and company.
• Achieve goals set by supervisor for error-free work and compliance.
