Job summary

Albany Med is seeking a Remote Professional Coder in Health Information Management. You will review, analyze, and validate CPT and ICD-10 codes and related charges to ensure compliance with federal/state regulations and carrier guidelines.

The role is remote within the United States, with responsibilities spanning coding accuracy, denials review, and audits. Qualifications include a high school diploma, 1–3 years of provider professional fee coding experience, and AHIMA/APC credentials

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/G.E.D. required.
• 1–3 years of experience in provider professional fee coding preferred.
• Working knowledge of provider professional fee coding and charge processing; proficient in Word and Excel.

Responsibilities

• Review CPT, ICD-10 diagnosis codes, HCPCS, modifiers and charges for compliance with regulations.
• Code CPT and ICD-10 diagnosis codes accurately and compliantly.
• Understand NCCI edits and RVUs as relevant to the role.
• Ensure productivity and quality standards are met.
• Review denials, research and respond promptly.
• Perform audits as directed by management.
• Support testing for coding workflows as needed.
• Attend staff and department meetings and participate in professional development.
