Qualifications

• Three to five years coding experience (inpatient preferred).
• Advanced training in ICD-10-CM/PCS, CPT and APC.
• Medical terminology, anatomy and physiology required.
• Computer skills.
• Ability to read medical reports and abstract information for inquiries.
• Ability to work remotely with compliant privacy and security practices.
• Commitment to compliance and Code of Conduct.

Responsibilities

• Perform inpatient IP coding including DRG assignment and validation.
• Maintain knowledge of outpatient coding as needed.
• Utilize 3M Encoder to classify medical records per ICD-10-CM/PCS.
• Collaborate with Coding Manager, CDI team, Business Office and Case Management.
• Ensure timeliness and accuracy of coding and reporting.
