Logan Health, a remote health system, is seeking a Certified Professional Coder to join our coding team. The role focuses on accurately assigning ICD-10-CM and CPT-4 codes for outpatient records and supporting data abstraction for reimbursement.

We require a nationally recognized coding certificate and at least one year of coding experience. The position offers full-time remote work with a competitive hourly pay scale based on experience, and eligibility to work in approved states.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of ICD-10-CM and CPT-4 coding guidelines and practices is required.
• Nationally recognized coding certificate (CCA, CCS, CPC or AAPC) is required.
• Excellent organizational skills and ability to work independently or in a team.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and communicate effectively with diverse audiences.
• Strong attention to detail and problem-solving abilities are essential.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and basic computer skills are needed.

Responsibilities

• Assign and sequence ICD-10-CM and CPT-4 codes for outpatient records.
• Abstract essential data elements for tracking and reimbursement.
• Key and bill for assigned client databases, ensuring accuracy.
• Review medical records for documentation deficiencies and reflect diagnoses accurately.
• Verify medical necessity for tests/procedures and follow up on accounts on hold.
• Ensure compliant coding according to guidelines and regulatory requirements.
• Coordinate data corrections with Patient Access and support billing accuracy.
