Job summary

Logan Health is seeking an experienced Certified Professional Coder to join our remote billing team. You will code outpatient records using ICD-10-CM and CPT-4, abstract data for tracking and reimbursement, and support billing and collections for client databases.

The ideal candidate has at least one year of coding experience and holds a national coding certification (CCA, CCS, CPC, or AAPC). This full-time remote role requires residency in approved states such as Oregon.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of ICD-10-CM and CPT-4 coding guidelines and practices.
• Nationally recognized coding certificate (CCA, CCS, CPC or AAPC) required.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail; able to work in a team or independently.
• Commitment to confidentiality.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Proficient computer skills and ability to learn new software.

Responsibilities

• Assign and sequence ICD-10-CM and CPT-4 codes for outpatient records across settings.
• Abstract essential data elements for tracking, reporting, and reimbursement.
• Key data entry, billing and collections for assigned client databases.
• Review records for document deficiencies and ensure accurate diagnoses and procedures.
• Verify charges and check medical necessity; communicate with providers and departments.
• Follow coding guidelines to ensure regulatory compliance.
• Maintain accurate patient account demographics and coordinate corrections.
• Meet productivity standards of Revenue Integrity Coding.
• Participate in continuing education to update knowledge and skills.
