BH Shared Services (a UHS company) is seeking a Certified Coder to join the Central Appeals Office. The role emphasizes high‑quality ICD‑10 coding for inpatient and outpatient accounts across multiple facilities, with physician queries as needed and strict adherence to coding guidelines.

The ideal candidate reviews records for accurate ICD‑10 coding, maintains confidentiality, stays current with trainings, and supports documentation requests from HIM staff.

Qualifications

• RHIT, RHIA, CCS or CPC certification required.
• 1-3 years related experience required.
• Graduation from a certified coding program required.
• Knowledge of MS4 and 3M software preferred.

Responsibilities

• Abstract ICD-10-CM/ICD-10-PCS codes for inpatient and outpatient accounts, following coding policies.
• Review medical records and query physicians when documentation is inadequate or unclear.
• Maintain confidentiality of medical records.
• Keep current with coding trainings and credentials.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.
