Job summary

Vitruvian Health is hiring a Professional Medical Coder I to work remotely from anywhere in the United States, including Tennessee and surrounding states. You will review medical records, assign and verify CPT and ICD-10 codes, and ensure compliance with HIPAA and coding guidelines.

The role requires a High School Diploma and CPC/CPC-H/CCA/CCS/CCS-P certification with two additional specialties, plus at least 1 year of E/M coding experience.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma is required.
• Base Coding Certification required (CPC, CPC-H, CCA, CCS, CCS-P) with two additional specialty credentials.
• At least 1 year of experience coding Evaluation and Management services; surgical specialty experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Audits provider documentation to ensure accurate coding.
• Assist with training of providers on documentation rules and regulations.
• Assist in resolving billing issues related to accurate coding.
• Demonstrates knowledge to code inpatient and outpatient encounters.
• Understands payment schemes for inpatient and outpatient encounters.
• Flexible with the type of encounter billed.
• Keeps current with continuing education and coding updates.
• Reviews provider documentation to determine CPT/ICD codes support the documentation.
