Job summary

UnitedHealth Group, Optum360, seeks a Clinical Documentation Improvement (CDI) Manager to oversee inpatient CDI programs and drive accurate, complete documentation across client medical records.

This role collaborates with CDI Directors, physicians, and care teams to improve documentation quality, leads staff training, and ensures timely, expert reviews within 24-48 hours of admission. Remote-based with travel to client sites.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of acute care hospital RN experience or medical graduate with CDI experience.
• 2+ years of experience communicating & presenting to physicians.
• Proficiency using a PC in a Windows environment, including Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point and Electronic Medical Records.
• Ability to travel 30-40% to client sites.

Responsibilities

• Conducts chart audits, quality audit and KPI audits
• Oversees CDI staff training and orientation
• Oversees CDI staff workflow and ensures documentation within 24-48 hours of admit
• Develops physician teaching and on-site presentations
• Assist CDI Director with projects or tasks as needed
• Timecard approval and staff coaching/evaluations
