Job summary

Greenbrook Medical is seeking a CDI Coding Specialist to ensure documentation accurately reflects the complexity of care for seniors. You will review charts, validate codes, and collaborate with providers to uphold high coding standards in a fast-paced environment.

Location: Remote within the U.S.; preference for Eastern or Central time zones. Expect ICD-10 coding expertise, CMS-HCC risk adjustment knowledge, and a focus on accuracy, compliance, and teamwork.

Qualifications

• CPC certification is required.
• 3+ years CMS-HCC risk adjustment experience.
• 3+ years ICD-10 coding experience.
• 1+ year HEDIS/Stars experience.
• Experience with prospective and concurrent workflows.
• Strong knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, disease processes, and pharmacology.
• Proficiency with MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).
• Ability to defend coding decisions.

Responsibilities

• Apply ICD-10 coding judgments using guidelines to validate diagnosis codes in medical records.
• Support clinical care teams through comprehensive chart reviews (pre-visit and post-encounter).
• Review documentation to ensure every submitted code is supported.
• Abstract relevant clinical information and codes from hospital claims and notes.
• Educate clinicians on HCC coding and documentation best practices.
• Maintain compliance and protect patient confidentiality.
• Review system-generated reports to correct missing data and improve workflows.
• Communicate audit findings clearly to providers and internal teams.
• Collaborate across teams to ensure seamless workflows and timely amendments.
