Job summary

Amgen is seeking a District Sales Manager to lead our field teams in the Birmingham region and surrounding districts. You will serve as the key liaison to medical professionals, delivering clinical knowledge of Amgen medicines and building trusted relationships.

You will recruit, coach, and develop district staff, collaborate across Marketing, Finance, and other units, and drive performance while upholding compliance and ethics.

Qualifications

• Doctorate degree and 2 years of Sales/Marketing experience.
• Master’s degree and 6 years of Sales/Marketing experience.
• Bachelor’s degree and 8 years of Sales/Marketing experience.
• Associate’s degree and 10 years of Sales/Marketing experience.
• High school diploma/GED and 12 years of Sales/Marketing experience.
• 2 years of managerial experience directly managing people.

Responsibilities

• Track the progress of marketing messages and programs.
• Provide feedback to district teams on the marketing, allocating, monitoring, and leveraging of resources.
• Manage district teams to maximize performance and hit sales/budget targets.
• Screen, interview, and hire candidates.
• Ensure compliance with training.
• Coach and develop staff for future roles.
• Conduct performance reviews and competency assessments.
• Coordinate with district and cross-functional teams (Marketing, Finance, other units).
• Share best practices with reports and peers.
• Lead district sales meetings and develop local Opinion Leader relationships.
