Job summary

Beacon Hill Staffing Group is seeking a California Employment Attorney for a remote contract assignment anticipated to last 2 to 6 months. The attorney will support a client with a high-volume portfolio of employment-related matters and will play a key role in managing claims from pre-litigation through the litigation process when necessary.

This role requires strong legal research, motion practice, pleadings, and deposition experience, with independent matter management and strategic guidance

Qualifications

• Active California Bar membership is required.
• Residence and practice in California is required.
• Minimum of 4 years of California employment law experience.
• Experience handling employment litigation matters, including legal research, motion practice, pleadings, briefs, and depositions.
• Ability to work independently and manage matters with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities

• Manage a high-volume portfolio of California employment law claims, handling matters from pre-litigation through resolution.
• Conduct legal research and draft pleadings, motions, briefs, and other litigation-related documents in compliance with California employment laws.
• Take and defend depositions and support all phases of the litigation process when matters cannot be resolved through settlement.
• Evaluate claims, develop case strategy, and participate in settlement negotiations and other dispute resolution efforts.
• Independently manage assigned matters with minimal supervision while providing strategic legal support and guidance to the client.
