Job summary

Orchid Insurance, an Arrowhead Intermediaries company, seeks an Agency Development Manager to launch and grow its independent agency distribution in California. The role blends training, strategic guidance, and cross-functional collaboration to keep offerings competitive and relevant.

Based remotely with a California residence, you will recruit agencies, guide them through submissions, and partner with underwriting to align opportunities.

Qualifications

• Must possess or obtain and maintain all licenses required to perform the essential functions of the position, including a California Property and Casualty Broker Agent license within 90 days of employment.

Responsibilities

• Build and execute a territory plan to launch Orchid in California.
• Recruit, appoint and onboard new independent agencies and be their main contact through submissions and binds.
• Train agents on CA surplus lines placement, wildfire underwriting and mitigation, and how Orchid fits with FAIR Plan and DIC coverage.
• Partner with underwriting on referrals and appetite, and provide competitive/regulatory intel to programs.
• Travel frequently for in-person agency visits within the assigned territory.
