Job summary

DaMar Staffing is seeking a full-time California-licensed hospital coder to work remotely on outpatient services, including Hospital Ambulatory Surgery, Home Health/Hospice, and Observation procedures. You will code diagnoses and procedures using ICD-CM, CPT, and HCPCS while ensuring regulatory compliance and data accuracy.

The role requires 2 years of hospital coding/abstracting experience, a high school diploma or GED with medical terminology education, and professional credentials (RHIT, CPC,

Qualifications

• Two years of continuous hospital coding/abstracting experience within the last five years.
• High School Diploma or GED with completion of classes in medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and coding conventions from an accredited program.
• Certification as RHIT, CPC, CCS, or similar credential.
• Basic knowledge of reimbursement methodologies and coding guidelines.
• Ability to achieve a minimum score of 75% on the Hospital Outpatient Coder test.

Responsibilities

• Review medical records to identify and code diagnoses and procedures using ICD-CM, CPT, and HCPCS classification systems
• Organize and prioritize work assignments to ensure timely and compliant coding in accordance with regulatory requirements
• Verify and abstract data from medical records, ensuring accuracy and integrity before submission
