Job summary

GCG Custom Engineered Solutions is seeking a Buyer to join the procurement team. You will plan and purchase raw materials to support cable assembly operations, ensuring availability for production while controlling costs and maintaining supplier performance.

You will manage purchase orders, coordinate with production and engineering, optimize lead times, monitor inventory levels, and work to prevent shortages.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, or related field preferred.
• 3–5 years of purchasing, buyer, or materials planning experience in manufacturing.
• Experience with MRP/ERP systems (Oracle preferred).
• Strong understanding of material planning, inventory control, and procurement processes.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Manage purchase orders from requisition through receipt, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
• Procure raw materials, MRO, and services at optimal cost, quality, and lead time.
• Monitor open orders and manage delivery schedules to prevent shortages.
• Coordinate with production, engineering, and supply chain teams to align material availability.
• Resolve material issues, shortages, and supplier discrepancies; support cost reductions.
