Job summary

GCG Custom Engineered Solutions seeks a Buyer to join the procurement team within its US operations. You will plan and purchase raw materials to support cable assembly production, ensuring material availability, controlling costs, and monitoring supplier performance.

You will coordinate with production, engineering, and suppliers to manage demand signals, execute purchase orders, and maintain a steady flow of materials for on-time delivery and overall operational efficiency.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, or related field preferred.
• 3–5 years of purchasing, buyer, or materials planning experience in a manufacturing setting.
• Experience using MRP/ERP systems (Oracle strongly preferred).
• Strong understanding of material planning, inventory control, and procurement processes.
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills.

Responsibilities

• Manage purchase orders from requisition through receipt, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and alignment with production requirements.
• Procure raw materials, MRO, and services at optimal cost, quality, and lead time.
• Monitor open orders and proactively manage delivery schedules to prevent shortages or disruptions.
• Review MRP outputs in Oracle to plan and maintain appropriate inventory levels.
• Partner with production, engineering, and supply chain teams to align material availability with manufacturing schedules.
