Job summary

GCG Custom Engineered Solutions in Leominster, MA is seeking a Buyer to join the procurement team at our cable assembly facility. You will plan and purchase raw materials to support production, maintain inventory levels, and help ensure on-time delivery.

This hybrid, in-office role requires coordinating with internal teams and suppliers, managing POs in Oracle, and driving cost controls and supplier performance to sustain efficient operations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain, or related field
• 3-5 years in purchasing, buyer, or materials planning role within a manufacturing environment
• Experience with MRP/ERP systems (Oracle strongly preferred)
• Strong understanding of material planning, inventory control, and procurement processes
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, production-driven environment
• Effective communication and negotiation skills with internal teams and external suppliers
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and standard business applications
• Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy, follow-through, and problem-solving

Responsibilities

• Manage purchase orders from requisition through receipt, ensuring accuracy and timeliness
• Procure raw materials, MRO, and services at optimal cost, quality, and lead time
• Monitor open orders and manage delivery schedules to prevent shortages
• Review MRP outputs to plan and maintain inventory levels
• Establish and adjust safety stock levels
• Source and evaluate suppliers, negotiate pricing and lead times
• Partner with production, engineering, and supply chain teams to align material availability
• Resolve material issues including shortages and supplier discrepancies
• Support cost reduction initiatives and process improvements
