Job summary

Cardinal Health is seeking a BD Consultant to support the Sales Operations function by developing proposal content, maintaining RFP assets, and enhancing client-facing deliverables for business development pursuits.

The role requires 3+ years in pharma/biotech or RFP/proposal writing, with strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate across functions in a remote, full-time capacity. Occasional travel may be required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in related field or equivalent work experience preferred
• 3+ years of experience in the pharmaceutical/biotechnology industry or former RFP and Proposal writing / consulting experience preferred
• Strong understanding of the pharmaceutical industry, patient services, and commercial business development
• Demonstrates ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment while managing competing priorities and timelines
• Experience with RFP/proposal management systems preferred (e.g., Ariba, Coupa)
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly PowerPoint and Excel
• Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
• Ability to travel occasionally (up to 10%) as business needs require

Responsibilities

• Develops high-quality proposal content by leveraging internal knowledge libraries, subject matter experts, and existing response assets
• Coordinates with BD and cross-functional stakeholders to gather information, validate responses, and ensure timely submission of deliverables
• Reviews responses for completeness, consistency, accuracy, and adherence to client requirements to support development of a competitive response
• Conducts targeted research on key client contacts, therapeutic areas, competitors, and relevant market dynamics to support opportunity pursuits, solution positioning, and proposal development
• Exercises sound judgment in identifying issues, escalating risks, and recommending solutions to support pursuit success
• Synthesizes complex information from multiple stakeholders into clear, concise, and client-focused deliverables
• Manages multiple concurrent pursuits and projects of varying complexity while balancing competing priorities and deadlines
• Completes work independently with strong attention to detail and receives general guidance on new or complex assignments
